British Muslims send Christmas Greetings

During this joyful time of Christmas on behalf of the British Muslims, Minhaj-ul-Quran International UK wish the Christian community a joyous and peaceful Christmas Season commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, may peace be upon him.

Commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ is for us Muslims similar to commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad, may peace be upon him, which is usually during the Islamic month of Rabi al Awal.

At Minhaj-ul-Quran International, it is our custom to celebrate Christmas and host annual Christmas gatherings and invite our Christian brethren. This has been the way initiated and promoted by the founder and Patron-in-Chief of Minhaj-ul-Qur’an International, Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. A regular attendee at these gatherings is Dr. Andrew Francis, Archbishop of Pakistan. Speaking at one of these events, Bishop Dr. Andrew Francis said, "Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri has always been a torchbearer in promoting interfaith harmony between Islam and Christianity and I appreciate Dr Qadri’s efforts for global peace and harmony."

Minhaj-ul-Quran UK has arranged a Christmas gathering at its London centre to extend Christmas Greetings on behalf of British Muslim community.

Islam is a religion of peace, love and harmony which is also evident from a narration of Prophet Muhammad, may peace be upon him, where he allowed a Christian delegation (who came to visit him) to offer their prayers in the mosque in Madinah. (Ibn Hisham, as-Sira an-Nabawiyya, pp. 486, 487)

Acting on this Hadith, Minhaj-ul-Quran International has also opened the doors of Minhaj-ul-Quran centres and mosques worldwide for Christians to pray in according to their faith.
